Chief

Sakom, or the Chief, is the head of the executive arm of the tribal government.  The office of Sakom is empowered to carry out the policy decisions of the Tribal Council.  As such, all executive and administrative operations of tribal government are under the purview of the Sakom.  In the case of absence, incapacity or conflict of interest, the Leptanet, or Vice Chief, will exercise the authority and powers of the Sakom in the interest of the Passamaquoddy Tribe of Indian Township.
