Governor:
Chief William Nicholas
The Governor, or Sakom, holds the sole responsibility of carrying out the policy decisions of the Council. All Executive and Administrative responsibility pertaining to Tribal Government Operations flows through this position. Only through the absence of the Governor, a general incapacity or conflict of interest shall the Lieutenant Governor, Leptanet, exercise Sakom powers.

Responsibilities include management and oversight all Indian Township tribal programs including Health Service, Fire & Police, Education, Utilities, Infrastructure, Education, and Housing as well as interactions with State and Federal Government Agencies.

Indian Township Tribal Game Warden Service
Responsible for implementing and monitoring fish and wildlife management programs and game regulations on Tribal lands encompassing 150,000 acres in Northern Maine.
Completed State of Maine Advanced Warden Program in 2000.

Responsible for enforcing all public safety laws on Indian Township Reservation.
